Terms of service

The agreement

These terms apply when an organisation signs up for ShelvesJA. The person who signs up confirms they may agree to them for their organisation. “We” means ShelvesJA; “you” means that organisation.

The free trial

Every new workspace starts with a 30-day free trial with every feature turned on. No card is needed. When the trial ends you can choose a plan and carry on with everything you entered. If you do not, the workspace becomes read-only: you can still sign in, look things up and export, but not make changes. Nothing is deleted.

Subscriptions and payment

• Plans are priced in Jamaican dollars per month, as shown on the pricing page.
• We invoice you, and your subscription is active from the date we confirm payment until the end of the period you paid for.
• If a payment is late, we will remind you. After a short grace period the workspace becomes read-only until it is paid.
• We will give workspace owners at least 30 days’ notice by email before we change the price of your plan.
• You can change plans or stop at the end of any paid period.

Your records

Your organisation owns the records it puts into ShelvesJA. We only use them to provide the service, as described in our privacy notice. You can export them at any time, including after the trial or subscription ends.

Using ShelvesJA properly

• Keep passwords private and give people only the access their work needs.
• Do not use the service for anything unlawful, or try to reach another organisation’s workspace.
• Do not overload, copy or reverse-engineer the service.

We may suspend a workspace that breaks these rules. Where we can, we will tell you first and give you the chance to put it right.

What we promise

We work to keep ShelvesJA available, secure and backed up, and to fix problems quickly. Like any online service it may sometimes be unavailable, for example during maintenance, which we try to schedule outside working hours.

ShelvesJA helps you keep records; it does not replace your own checks. We are not responsible for losses caused by information entered incorrectly, or by events outside our reasonable control.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using ShelvesJA at any time. If you want your workspace closed and its records deleted, write to us. We will export your records for you first if you ask.

Changes and questions

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell workspace owners by email before the change takes effect. These terms are governed by the laws of Jamaica. Questions? Email hello@shelvesja.com.
